Eclectic Vintage Inspired Celebration / Khanh & Matt at Andaz Papagayo

A happy couple, a stunning venue and two cute newsboys handing out the wedding programs? I think I am in love!

Our first actual wedding at the super cool Chao Pescao, the tapas bar at Andaz Papagayo, Matt & Kahn’s celebration was just the perfect mix of tropical eclectic style and a vintage feel. We worked with simple greeneryand colorful flowers to compliment the style of the reception in vintage style glass vases to compliment the reception venue and Artflower created a delightful pop of lushness for the altar, to stand out in the more neutral ceremony space. Local bird postcards by Costa Rican artist Priscilla Aguero at HolaLola were placed on each guests seat, adding more color to the mix.

Can you guess what the groom does for a living?

Green + geo inspired wedding in Tamarindo / Shannon & Ian's Costa Rica Wedding at Pangas Beach Club

There is nothing like a gift from nature when the season is starting out! Our season usually begins in November, which also happens to be the end of the rainy season. Due to this, we always plan and prep for rain (while crossing our fingers that the weather cooperates and our clients get a beautiful day - with an amazing rainy season sunset). I must say, our finger crossing sure worked for Shannon & Ian’s wedding at Pangas beach club, because the weather, and the sunset, could not have been more lovely.

I love designing for clients who love a natural and modern vibe, using the beautiful greenery that is so characteristic of Costa Rica. By combining it with white flowers (gorgeous orchids anyone), natural fibers and local wood plus glass and metal geometric accents, the end result is just the right combination of local and modern, lush and simple. Like my friend (and the photographer responsible for these amazing photos) Jon from Costa Vida Photo said “Beautiful does not need to be complicated”. Words to live by, my friends!

String lights illuminated a clear tent (did I mention the importance of having a weather backup plan?), and with the candles on the table, created a soft inviting glow that just added so much to the ambiance.

Following a dinner of local delights, guests danced the night away to the beats of DJ Mason Dunn. In the end, I guess not much beats a great party!
