Costa Rica Styled Shoot / Brandi Smyth + 419 Weddings + Eventos Artesanos at Las Catalinas

Another thing we love is the opportunity to collaborate with other talented wedding artists. A few months ago, I received an email from the wonderfully talented Brandi Smyth, asking if we would be interested in collaborating on a styled shoot. She was planning a vacation in Costa Rica,  and wanted to take advantage of the trip and do a shoot. I immediately said yes and went about enlisting the help of Kirsten and Jon at Eventos Artesanos, Vicky at Costa Rica Bridal Services, Tricia at Maravilla Weddings, Victoria Zoch, and our great two models Fran and Brian. Of course, we needed a perfect beach venue and I didn't have to look very much before finding it at Las Catalinas! Brandi brought a lovely dove grey dress from The Dress Theory, lovely calligraphy place setting from All Things Lovely Paper Co and hand dyed silk ribbon from Silk and Willow. A dream come true. The seaside grey inspiration was shot in film and resulted in a lovely shoot that was featured on the always stunning Wedding Sparrow.

Costa Rica Weddings / Helen & Alex at Westin Playa Conchal

One of the things I love the most about being a wedding planner is that I truly get to have a lot of fun at work. Sometimes, I have so much fun with wedding planning that I think there has to be a catch! But guess what, there isn't!!!! Alex and Helen's wedding was one of those that we loved when all the planning turned into a reality because it was just as we had wanted it to be!

The ceremony took place in a lovely spot above the golf course at the Westin Playa Conchal, which was just what the couple had envisioned (they wanted an ocean view, but not a beach wedding). Luckily for everyone, the wedding was just the right size for the spot which is nestled under a lovely tree (and has just the right ocean view).

After the ceremony, guests were shuttled to the Reserva Conchal Beach Club for cocktails. Bride and Groom went off to do their portrait session and were greeted by the guest with a sparkler tunnel before entering the reception.

We loved working on the design for this wedding, which was a mix of rustic elegance and bright florals, perfectly elaborated by Eventos Artesanos. A great group of fun (and dance) loving people, the night ended with lots of dancing and of course, lots of love!
