Real Weddings / Lisa & John at Father Rooster, Playa Ocotal

John was born in Costa Rica... and even though he and Lisa had already celebrated a wedding back home in the US, it only made perfect sense to them to have another lovely celebration with John's Costa Rican family. They chose one of our favorite unique beachfront venues (perfect if you are looking for a style that is a bit more laid back and relaxed), Father Rooster in Playa Ocotal. John and Lisa wanted the wedding to feel very Costa Rican, so they picked all ginger florals (Cristina at Artflower incorporated some coconuts into the centerpieces which were a perfect touch), with bright pinks and greenery calling everyone's attention (and making a lovely match with the very colorful Father Rooster). Add some local Mono Loco sauces (provided by John's cousin, who makes these fabulous treats), some delicious local macadamia brittle, a menu composed of traditional tico dishes such as ceviche and chifrijo, a stunning oxcart inspired wedding cake designed by Victoria Zoch... and throw in a  World Cup quarterfinal game (which Costa Rica, as we now all know, unfortunately lost).  Well, you cannot get more Costa Rican than that!
